JOE Launchbury has been left of the bench again for England this weekend, bu Wasps director of rugby Dai Young believes the young forward has established himself at international level already and is in the squad for the long-term.

Stuart Lancaster resisted calls to promote Launchbury to his starting XV for their Test against Australia, preferring Wasps team-mate Tom Palmer and Geoff Parling in the second row.

But Young expects the 21-year-old to grace the international game for years to come.

He said: “He’s established himself and I think he’s there to stay now.

“You’ve got Courtney Laws and one or two others coming back, but he’s certainly going to be in the mix from here on in.

“Sometimes he’s very good, but he never falls below good. His consistency for us has been outstanding.

“He’s been one of the better players on the field in every game that he’s played and now it’s been recognised by England.

“And he’s only going to get better, that’s the frightening thing.

“He’s an exceptional young man on and off the field.”
