Azeez: I'll remember debut for the rest of my life
NEW loan signing Ade Azeez says he's still buzzing after making his Football League debut for Wanderers against Burton on Saturday.
The England U19 international looked a handful for the visiting defence during his late cameo after arriving on loan from Charlton Athletic two days previously.
The striker said: "It was a really good moment - I'll remember it for the rest of my life. I'm still happy and I can't wait to have a couple more games and make the most of it.
"You'd love to get a goal a game average but if I can't, maybe just above half that. I've got another seven games here - if I can return with five goals I'd be very happy.
"I'm looking to get some experience and better myself and go back and hopefully break into the first team at Charlton."
Azeez had been on Blues boss Gareth Ainsworth's radar for a while, and the Wanderers chief watched the teenager score a hat-trick for Charlton U21s in their 5-1 victory against Brentford.
But Azeez said he didn't have a clue Ainsworth was there to watch him.
He said: "I didn't find out until a couple of days later that he was there. I guess it's always better if you don't know who's watching so you can play your usual game.
"I was really buzzing. I wanted to get out and play some first team football."
Charlton fans have likened the youngster's style of play to that of Bradley Wright-Phillips, a comparison which flattered Azeez.
He said: "I wouldn't complain with that. We both like to work hard, both like to get down the channels and at defenders, and create our own chances. I'd say we're kind of similar."
