CLUB captain Gary Doherty is out for six weeks after having surgery on a back problem.

The former Ireland international hasn't played for Wanderers since the FA Cup defeat against Crewe in early November after hurting a disc in his lower back early on in the game.

Doherty had an operation on Tuesday to help cure the problem, but the club say he will now be out of action for another six weeks while he recovers.
