BLUES boss Gareth Ainsworth has warned fans not to expect much activity this transfer window, saying the summer takeover will result in the quietest January at Adams Park for ages.

Ainsworth said: “It’s really tough because we’re not at a club that can go out and buy people now because of the transition of the club.

“I’m sure if I was desperate the club would back me, but it’s probably going to be more players going out on loan, some of the younger lads, rather than bringing anyone in.

“We’ve been through a huge change this season and I know we can’t start making big signings.

“It’s probably consolidation. Survival in League Two and then we can address the whole thing next year.

“I think January will be one of the quietest January’s for a while for Wycombe Wanderers.”

However, Blues could add to their list of loan players.

Ainsworth said: “There are a couple of names on the horizon but that’s between me and the board and rest of my coaching staff. We’ll see what we can do. I’ll only add if I think we really need to.”
