Wasps on LV=Cup hunt in Leicester

WASPS could take a huge stride towards their first piece of silverware in five years tomorrow if they beat the defending champions in the LV Cup.

A win at Leicester, with Sale at home the following week, would put Wasps within touching distance of the semi-finals and lock James Cannon says that’s very much on the players’ minds.

He said: “If you can get through your group you’re straight into a semi-final.

“From there anything can happen. You string two games together and you’ve got a bit of silverware, which would be absolutely fantastic.

“It’s all to play for. We’re not in a position where we can write off a competition. We’re going for all competitions.”
