DANNY Cipriani could finally return to Adams Park tomorrow as Sale arrive in Wycombe with a place in the semi-finals of the LV=Cup on the line.

Cipriani left Wasps in 2010 and was expected to play his first match back at Adams Park just before Christmas but was sensationally dropped by Sale’s jack of all trades Steve Diamond.

However, a Cipriani-inspired fightback against Llanelli Scarlets has given them an outside chance of making the semi-finals.

Diamond said: “We have to get four tries if we are to have any chance of progressing.

“We can’t bank on just going to Wasps and winning – we are not good enough to do that.

“We’ve got to go down there, play well and try and get a result – that could be enough.”

Wasps, meanwhile, are out of the competition following their defeat in Leicester last weekend.

However, tomorrow’s match is not a pointless exercise for the black and golds.

They haven’t lost at Adams Park all season and are desperate to keep that record intact ahead of their return to the Aviva Premiership.

Forwards coach Trevor Woodman said: “It’s important we keep winning our home games.

“The team will probably change a bit again, but it’s still an opportunity to rest players and bring some others back that had a bit of down time last week.”

The match kicks off at 2pm.
