Wycombe U18s still waiting for new championships date

HIGH Wycombe HC U18s boys are still waiting to find out when they will get the chance to defending their national indoor crown.
Wycombe won both indoor and outdoor titles in a stunning run of form last year, and qualified for the indoor finals again in December.
They were due to play at Whitgift a fortnight ago, but the snow put paid to that idea and England Hockey have still not finalised a new date and venue.
March 10 is one date being considered, although a venue hasn’t been organised.
The other possibility in April 27.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that the U18s girls’ competition will take place on March 10.
They were also postponed because of the bad weather a few weeks ago.
A venue is still to be announced.
The national finals will come as a welcome distraction for the club this season, who are still flailing near the foot of the South Hockey Premier League.
They were thumped 6-1 by London Edwardians on Saturday, with Liam Sanford scoring their consolation.
