KORTNEY Hause wants to follow the lead of other former Wanderers who've gone on to bigger and better things after signing a new contract with the club this week.

The 17-year-old defender put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at Adams Park until summer 2015, following in the footsteps of Matt McClure and Matt Ingram who signed similar contracts recently.

Blues have a good recent history of bringing through talented youngsters and Hause wants to do the same, having had a taste of first team football earlier this season.

And with former youth team boss Richard Dobson now involved with the first team coaching set-up, Hause believes he has a good chance of making the breakthrough.

He said: "Richard Dobson's brought through quite a lot of good players, the likes of Jordon Ibe, Matt Phillips, Kadeem Harris. Anthony Stewart and Charles Dunne, they're good youngsters and Richard's played a good part in that, so hopefully I can work with him and learn from him and he can make me into one of those top players."

Hause added: "People say you haven't made it until you've got your second contract. I've got that so I'm happy I've done enough to earn that at this club - it's a good club.

"If I get my head down, keep learning, keep listening to people and keep working hard I'll get chances to get more first team football and more experience.

"I've done well in some games but there's always room for improvement. You can always do better. I think I've done enough to show people what I can do."

Hause had a run of nine games in the first team earlier in the season, scoring against Chesterfield, before boss Gareth Ainsworth took him out of the side to prevent burnout.

He said: "I'm just looking at working hard and hopefully I can get another shot towards the end of the season, go on a good run and end the season strongly."

Ainsworth was delighted Hause followed McClure and Ingram's lead by signing on: "It's fantastic for the club. They are really big assets for this place.

"Kortney came in and really held his own. We had a lot of interest from higher up - I know for a fact there were clubs coming to watch him and seeing how he's doing.

"To sign Kortney up and have him as a Wycombe player for the next couple of years is great."
