CHESHAM RFC reacted to their National Vase quarter-final defeat with an astounding victory over Crowthorne last weekend.

They won 53-0 at the team placed fifth in the BB&O Championship and now stand alone in second place.

Matt Reynolds, Olly Jaycocks, Dom Gray, Tom Hirst (2), Reza Sibilant, Alex Jaycocks and Tom Wehrle all powered over in a stunning victory.

Captain Olly Jaycocks said: “I was confident during training in the week following the cup loss because all the players felt like they had something to prove.

“Fortunately it was a dry day and we could get the ball wide and use the pace we possess in the backline. The forwards did very well at securing a great platform for the backs to use their skills and rack up the tries.

“In attack the offloading game really helped us score and the support lines on each offload were right on time and at pace.

“In defence we really stepped up and put our bodies on the line to keep the score to a zero. Everyone worked hard and we were rewarded with a result I really felt like we deserved.”

Meanwhile, BB&O Premier side Princes Risborough couldn’t raise a team for their trip to table-topping Stow-on-the-Wold.
