Ainsworth happy point takes Blues closer to safety
GARETH Ainsworth said a draw was the right result from last night's game with Rotherham United - but he wants another point so he can sleep easier.
A 2-2 stalemate meant Wanderers' points tally for the season ticked on to 49 points - one below Ainsworth's safety target of 50.
And the Blues boss said the survival job isn't done and dusted just yet, insisting he won't sleep easy until his side reach his target.
He said: "I'm pleased with a point and pleased with the performance - I think we're going in the right way now.
"We are still by no means safe yet. I still want that 50 points and I want to get over that line.
"They'll be happy with a point away from home. At 2-1 down I'm happy with a point as well. It cancels out the bad feeling I had after the Rochdale game and takes us one point closer to my target of getting over 50 points, which means fewer sleepless nights for me."
Ainsworth added: "After the performance on Saturday, a point's a good point. Little bit disappointed because we were up, then we were down.
"I thought there was only one team in it in the last half an hour. I really think we caused Rotherham some problems. They're a big side with a big budget and bid expectations, so to take four points off that team this season is a good marker of where we are.
"I went to watch them last week at Oxford and they destroyed Oxford in 20 minutes 4-0, so I knew they were capable of scoring goals. We knew what was coming, unfortunately we couldn't stop it."
