Ainsworth's appeal for missing fans to come back
BLUES boss Gareth Ainsworth is hoping the missing fans turn up at Adams Park on Saturday to cheer his side on to victory.
A disappointing crowd of 2,581 watched the midweek draw against Rotherham and Ainsworth is hoping Blues' remaining home games are watched by crowds similar to the ones the side attracted in their recent promotion season.
He said: "We want fans to come down in droves. If we can get it crowds back to the season we were promoted, it'll be fantastic for the club.
"It's your team and I'm head of your team at the moment and I'll do my best for you.
"There's no Champions League to keep people away and the sun's coming out and it's getting warmer. If it isn't, we've got plenty of scarves and hats for sale in the shop."
Reflecting on the Rotherham game Ainsworth added: "I was lucky enough to be on the pitch at the end when Doc scored the goal and I ran into the goal after the ball - reliving my youth - and just looking at the fans and seeing all the smiles on their faces was a fantastic moment for me."
