STUART Lewis has been handed a three match ban after Wanderers elected not to appeal against his red card.

The Blues skipper was sent off in the first half of their 1-0 defeat at AFC Wimbledon for a high challenge on George Porter.

Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth said immediately after the game he felt the tackle didn't warrant a red card and was considering appealing the dismissal.

But he now feels the decision would not have been rescinded based on the video evidence available to the Football Association and he will not contest the decision.

Lewis will miss home matches against Mansfield Town and Southend United and the trip to local rivals Oxford United after the first sending off of his Wanderers career.
