Manager's exit throws Rams into chaos
BEACONSFIELD SYCOB's lead into the new season has been thrown into chaos following the sudden resignation of manager Jamie Pritchard just a week before their first game.
Pritchard stepped down last Friday, citing increased work commitments, and the timing couldn’t be worse.
Striker Yash Romeo said: “It’s not great. I think we only had about ten players signed on at the time.
“I know the manager signed a few players but I think they’re all going to leave now. So at the moment I’m not even sure we’ve got a team for Saturday.
“I’m sure we will have, but who they are I don’t know.”
Romeo says he won’t be jumping ship just yet, but if things don’t settle down quickly it’s likely their main striker will follow the exodus.
Apart from the timing, Pritchard’s exit will be a big blow for the Rams after he led them to the promotion play-offs and their first ever Berks and Bucks Senior Cup in his only season in charge.
Gavin Meakin has taken over the reigns at Beaconsfield and took his first training session on Tuesday. They go to Dunstable on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Chalfont St Peter are at North Greenford United on Saturday before hosting Aylesbury United on Tuesday.
