Dunne unused sub in Irish defeat
CHARLES Dunne was again an unused substitute as the Republic of Ireland U21s were beaten by their German counterparts last night.
The Wanderers defender was among the replacements in the Emerald Isle's 4-0 European Championship qualifier at Sligo.
The Germans were 3-0 up inside the first quarter of the game thanks to Moritz Leitner and a quickfire brace from Kevin Volland.
Aston Villa midfielder Samir Carruthers was sent off in the second half before Philipp Hofmann completed the scoring late on.
Ireland's next game is away to Romania next month, with Dunne hoping to win his first cap after being called into the last two squads.
