Duo score on return from injury in Blues cup win
JON-PAUL Pittman and Josh Scowen marked their return from injury with goals as Wanderers progressed to the next round of the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup last night.
The pair both scored in the first half of Blues' 4-2 win at Chalfont St Peter, with Jo Kuffour and Anthony Stewart also on the scoresheet.
Pittman opened the scoring in his first game after recovering from a back problem as he fired home following Kuffour's backheel.
Kuffour doubled the advantage minutes later when he slotted home the rebound after Saints keeper Dane Bass had blocked Junior Morias' one-on-one shot.
Former Watford striker Scott Fitzgerald reduced the arrears as he fired past Blues' 41-year-old goalkeeper Lee Harrison, but Scowen restored their two goal advantage before the break with a low shot.
Stewart headed home a late Matt Spring corner before Fitzgerald had the final say, heading in his second of the evening.
Paris Cowan-Hall was given a late run-out after a month out with knee ligament trouble.
Elsewhere in the competition last night Marlow were eliminated 6-5 on penalties by Aylesbury after Ian Davies had scored in a 1-1 draw.
