Wasps demolish Viadana in Amlin cruise
WASPS made a spectacular start to their Amlin Challenge Cup campaign with a 14-try destruction of Viadana in Italy this afternoon.
The black and golds wanted a bonus point victory to set their European quest off on the front and they did that and more with an utterly rampant 90-17 win.
Tongan centre scored three times on his debut and Guy Thompson also went over for a hat-trick as Wasps recorded their largest ever winning margin in Europe, breaking the previous record of 77-17 against Toulouse in 1996.
Jack Moates also enjoyed a profitable debut with two scores, while Kearnan Myall, Tommy Bell, Simon McIntyre, Charlie Hayter and Joe Simpson also went over.
Fly half Joe Carlisle added ten conversions in the victory.
Wasps hosts Bayonne at Adams Park on Thursday evening.
