Half time 'rallying call' rouses Wasps
WASPS needed a half time rallying call to beat Bayonne at Adams Park this evening, says director of rugby Dai Young.
The black and golds were 10-6 down at the break but 20 unanswered points after the turnaround rescued the match.
Young said: "At half time we weren't pleased, especially with our catch and pass skills. It was a bit of a rallying call at half time and I thought we delivered in the second half."
Tries from Ed Jackson and Josh Bassett preserved Wasps' unbeaten record in this competition at home, but familiar errors blotted the first half performance.
Young said: "The first half has been the story of our season, we've not kept hold of the ball long enough.
"A lot of the big pieces are there though, the defence was pretty good and our set-piece was good, but we need to keep the ball for three or four phases.
"We're working hard at it and there is still lots to come from this team. We're confident we're going in the right direction."
