WYCOMBE'S Erica Smith added to a burgeoning collection of ju-titsu medals with two more golds at an international tournament in Denmark.

The 15-year-old topped the podium in the juniors ground and continuous fighting events.

However, the Wycombe teenager wasn’t the only success as her club, Park Lodge Ju-Jitsu Kai, again excelled on the world stage again.

They sent six competitors to the Danish Open National Course and Competition and were rewarded with a total of ten medals – four of which were gold.

Lindsey Bulleid of Marlow was competing for the club for the first time in continuous fighting and that inexperience told in a messy semi-final.

However, she came through it before underlining her talent in a classy final to take the silver medal.

She added another silver in the open-hand kata, which she learned specifically for this competition, and went one better in ground fighting though, taking gold.

Gareth Townsend added a bronze in the men’s equivalent and also won bronze in random attacks.

Also bringing silverware back to Bucks was Monty Wych, who a ground fighting gold and continuous fighting silver, while Jason Smith was competing on the international stage for the first time and battled to bronze.

The Wycombe member was a whisker away from a shot at gold though, after the judged were unable to separate him and his opponent in their semi-final.

An additional minute was required, when Danish champion Mikael Knudsen prevailed in the final seconds.

The full team was: Seniors: Holly Evans, Jason Smith, Gareth Townsend, Lindsay Bulleid/ Juniors: Erica Smith, Monty Wych
