MARLOW FC manager Mark Bartley says there will be changes before Saturday’s trip to Royston after they lost their sixth game in a row in all competitions last weekend.

They were beaten 4-2 by Egham Town and although Bartley believes the six-game run is a bit misleading, it has convinced him to shuffle his pack.

He said: “When I look at the six games, two of them were cup games when I had to make a lot of changes because of injuries.

“But I’m disappointed about Kettering and last Saturday and I think it’s shown that when we’ve got one or two out it’s difficult for us to maintain our quality because our squad isn’t deep enough.

“We’ve got to bring in a midfielder, possibly two, and a centre half. If I can get one other defender in as well then I will do.

“So I’m looking for three or possibly four by this weekend.”

Marlow’s mini slump has seen them sucked down towards the relegation zone in the Southern Central League, but Bartley isn’t concerned.

He said: “I’ve got a job to do here and that’s to make sure this squad is in this league next year.

“Royston will be a tough game, but the two games after that will probably give us a good indication of where we are. I’m not worried though.”

Ian Davies scored twice early on last weekend as Marlow took control against Egham, but the second half was a different story and three goales without reply from the visitors took them to maximum points.
