JORDAN Gilbert has earned a place in the Junior BSB National Superbike 600 Championship for a second year running.
The 17-year-old student from Chalfont Community College will again ride for Team Haribo Starmix after impressing in his rookie year.
He will ride alongside Charlie King, from Great Yarmouth.
Gilbert said: “I have raced against Charlie previously in MiniTwin races at club level and it will be great to work with him as my new team mate in this new race season.
“I’m sure we’re going to have a really successful year and some great results will surely follow.’’ Gilbert missed pre-season testing last year because of the snow but was still competitive with a best result of 21st out of 37 riders.
Derek Sanders of Ride Now Racing, a not-for-profit business dedicated to helping talented young racers to grow their racing skills, said: “Despite almost no pre-season testing, Jordan really did quite well as our rookie rider.
“This year we’ll take Jordan to Spain in early March for pre-season testing which will hopefully give us all a warmer and stronger start to the 2014 racing season.”
