WASPS will dig as deep into their squad as they can in the next fortnight as their LV=Cup hopes are already over.

They host London Irish tomorrow before a trip to Gloucester the following weekend, but defeats to Saracens and Newport Gwent Dragons mean their chances of the knock-out stages are already over.

Director of rugby Dai Young said: “We’ll try and juggle the team because we’re out of that competition.

“We’ll try and make sure that the boys that haven’t had much game time get some, and the guys that have had a lot of game time get a bit of a rest.

“We never sacrifice any game. It’s never going to be a situation where we don’t care if we lose, that’s not my style.

“But you’ve got to be sensible and see the bigger picture and we’ll certainly utilise our squad over the next two games so we arrive at Quins picking from a full strength squad.”

However, with their back line depleted by injury and further shorn by Saxons call up, Wasps might look outside the club for reinforcements.

Young said: “There are one or two positions we’ll have to look at with the Saxons involvement.”
