A WEEK after announcing a new deal at Wasps, Christian Wade has vowed to come back from injury better than ever.

The 22-year-old would be starting for England in their opening Six Nations match in France if he was fit, but instead is working his way back to fitness after damaging foot ligaments in November.

He said: “I think we all get better with the more games we play. We are exposed to different experiences and situations and just get better at making good decisions consistently.

“I've worked closely with my coaches over the years and tried to develop those areas that I'm weak in as well as perfecting those areas that I'm strong.”

Wade’s return, not expected until next season, will be a huge fillip for a club already making positive strides forwards.

He said: “My goals at club level will be to keep improving both individually as a player and as a team so that we can start to emerge as a top Premiership side who win silverware and who are tough to beat.

“We've got a well-balanced young side with lots of potential and it's time to start producing results.”
