SEVEN Wycombe Phoenix runners finished inside the top 100 at the Southern Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill in London.

They were running in fields of anything up to 3,000 athletes, in dreadful conditions.

But Emma Delgado showed a handy turn of pace in the U17s event to come home in 40th place.

Earlier, the U13 girls had started the day brightly by coming home 23rd in the team event thanks to Maisie Pennant (90th), Katie Jones (96th) and Holly Hodgkinson (97th).

Amelia Jarvis was 184th.

Meanwhile, Cameron Almand ran strongly throughout to finish 49th in the U15s event, while Dan Weathers recovered from an early fall to finish 78th.

Aidan Kingman was 186th while Jack Blyth came in 154th in the U17s race.

In the U20 event, Georgina Russell worked hard for 50th and Megan Styles ran well to finish 90th in the U15 girls category.

Meanwhile, The Grant & Stone Marlow 5 will take place on Sunday, May 11 and the Grant & Stone Wycombe Half Marathon/10k races will take place on Sunday, July 20.
