A LAST-minute winners saw Chesham United close the gap on Southern Premier League leaders Hemel Hempstead last night.

They won 2-1 at Hitchin with Chris Dillon scoring the all-important winner after 90 minutes.

Earlier, league top-scorer Drew Roberts had given Chesham a 21st minute lead before the hosts levelled just before the interval.

The victory was Cheshams' sixth in seven games and means Andy Leese's men are now eight points adrift of Hemel but, no less significantly, they are now 11 points clear of sixth place.
