CHRISTIAN Wade is ‘touch and go’ for a summer tour with England.

The Wasps winger had his second planned operation on an injured ankle a fortnight ago and is recovering as expected.

However, a three-month recovery time could rule him out of Stuart Lancaster’s plans this summer.

Dai Young said: “He’s fine and everything is on plan. He may get back for the last game but if he doesn’t play before the end of the season, whether England will want to risk taking him on a summer tour I don’t know.

“He’ll be touch and go, it all depends on his rehab.”

Meanwhile, Tom Varndell is also still a way from a return after further surgery on his bicept.

Young said: “Tom won’t be fit until the last two or three games.”
