Styche starts Gibraltar's first home international game
REECE Styche helped make history by playing in the first full international match to be played in Gibraltar on Saturday.
The Wanderers forward was included in the starting line-up in what was Gibraltar's second-ever international game after being accepted as a UEFA member.
But he ended up on the losing side, as opponents the Faroe Islands won 4-1 after scoring twice in each half.
Gibraltar had taken the lead as team captain Roy Chipolina wrote his name into folklore by scoring the British Overseas Territory's maiden international goal.
Styche, who qualifies to play for Gibraltar through his grandmother, will hope to retain his place in the side that faces Estonia in another friendly on Wednesday night, having been substituted after 70 minutes of Saturday's loss.
The Gibraltarians played their first ever international match in November and claimed a goalless draw against Slovakia, with the match having to be played in Portugal.
