BEACONSFIELD SYCOB fell further off the Southern League Central promotion pace with defeat to one of their main rivals last night.

They lost 3-1 at Royston, who jumped above them in the table with the result while sending Gary Meakin's men down to eighth place.

The five teams below Rams also have a number of games in hand on them.

Beaconsfield have now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Marlow's game at North Greenford United last night was postponed.
