PARIS Cowan-Hall left Adams Park in an ambulance this afternoon after injuring his ankle against Hartlepool.

The forward was taken to hospital for X-rays to assess the damage after coming off worst in a tackle.

Cowan-Hall lasted for not much more than five minutes of the game before he had to hobble off down the tunnel in considerable discomfort.

His replacement in the Wanderers attack, Matt McClure, went on to score the winning goal as Blues came from behind to win 2-1.

But with the Chairboys facing a heavy fixture schedule this month manager Gareth Ainsworth could have done without the five-goal forward being missing – while Cowan-Hall will no doubt be disappointed at not being given the chance to face his former employers Plymouth Argyle.

He missed September’s face-off against the Pilgrims at Home Park through injury and Ainsworth said he won’t feature in midweek either.

The Blues boss said: “He’s having an X-ray at the hospital and we’re waiting for the results of that, but his ankle swelled up pretty quickly and that’s usually a sign of something traumatic.

“Fingers crossed because he’s a big player for me.

“He’ll be devastated to miss Plymouth again – he missed the first game through injury.”

Cowan-Hall later tweeted: "Thanks for all the messages ankles huge but dont think there is a break will keep you all informed when i find out 100%..Good result though."
