THE Red Devils dropped into Amersham & Chiltern RFC on Saturday as the club paid homage to a former player who lost his life defending Arnhem Bridge 70 years ago.
Jack Grayburn, who represented Amersham's first team before the outbreak of war, was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross after his bravery in World War Two.
On Saturday, his sacrifce was recognised as the Red Devils parachuted into Weedon Lane as the club kicked off its preparations for their upcoming Tour to Arnhem.
The Red Devils then presented the VC to Grayburn's son, before Amersham's National League 3 South match with Old Redcliffians, which they won 51-10.
