IF Gareth Ainsworth was short of reasons to be cheerful after last night's defeat by Burton, he found one with the performance of Aaron Pierre.
The central defender played like he was playing in his 100th game rather than making his Football League debut with an assured performance at the back.
The Brentford youngster was handed a first start with Leon Johnson being rested, after Ainsworth said he was 'very tired' following Saturday's defeat by Rochdale.
Ainsworth said: "Aaron Pierre played very well. He was solid in his defending. He's a big lad, very fit.
"He could have had a goal actually, he was inches away from scoring at the other end.
"He's on the losing side - I'm sure Aaron won't be bothered about his debut, he'll want to be out there putting it right on Saturday when we go to Scunthorpe."
