HIGH Wycombe RUFC became the first team to lose to Swindon College Old Boys on Saturday as they were beaten 27-21 in Southern Counties North.

The Old Boys had played 18 Southern Counties North games before Saturday and lost every one, conceding 585 points in the process.

Bletchley put more than 100 points on them while Aylesbury and Milton Keynes both scored more than 60.

Wycombe themselves won the home fixture 43-0, but Swindon are a different prospect at home and finally broke their duck in a brusing fixture against the Kingsmead club.

Director of rugby George Dorling said: “Our objective this season was to be in the top three.

"We’re slightly off that but the floods have totally disrupted us. We were on a roll but we’ve only played two games in February and March.

“They took us on physically on Saturday, we didn’t have our full pack and they took full advantage.”

Wycombe have most of their first team back this weekend, when they host Reading Abbey in their final home game of the season.
