WANDERERS supporters have pledged £200,000 to help their club through a new share issue scheme.
Alternative proposals for fans to raise money should they oppose a mooted takeover of the club were put forward earlier this year.
The Wycombe Wanderers Trust board hope the venture will raise £2million for the club over a five year period and they've been encouraged by the initial response.
The board will now wait until the end of the month to see if more supporters would be willing to pledge additional funds.
Members then hope to announce the full details of how the scheme would work in eight weeks’ time once they have approval from HMRC.
Trust chairman Trevor Stroud said: "Almost £200,000 has been pledged in one month and we are extending the share issue to April 30. The response has been very encouraging and we hope it will continue."
Initially the share issue was targeted at fans who are members of the Trust, but club chairman Don Woodward said details of how to pledge money had been sent out to a further 17,000 non-members keen to help out.
