WYCOMBE HC’S U12s will try to continue the club’s rich recent tradition at junior level when they compete in the Regional EH Finals.

The Cressex club have flourished in the age groups with a string of indoor and outdoor national titles, while last month the U16s girls also flew the flag for the club on the biggest stage.

Now it’s the turn of the U12s after they booked their place in the regional finals in Surbiton on April 27 with a strong showing at the county championships.

A 0-0 draw with Milton Keynes in their opening Bucks County Finals group game did little to hint at the fireworks to come, but they hit their stride in game two with a 4-0 win over Amersham B.

A 1-0 victory over Aylesbury saw them into the semi-finals, and another 1-0 victory, this time over Marlow, took them to within a game of the title.

Amersham A proved too good, but their second-place was enough to earn them a spot in the next round of competition.

Their goalscorers on the day were Danny Burroughs, Daniel Cox, Alex Hinde (2) and Lewis Steadman.
