BEACONSFIELD RFC say promotion is their only target next season after settling for fifth place in the London 2 North West.
They beat bottom side London Nigerian 25-12 away last weekend and wrap up their campaign with a home game against the side second from bottom, U.C.S. Old Boys on Saturday.
But head coach Simon Tattersall is looking ahead.
He said: “It’s been a solid season, not spectacular. Because of injuries and unavailability we’ve used 49 players in the first team this year and realistically you can’t challenge doing that.
“That’s the bottom line.
“But I think the players now realise the level of work needed to go up and next year that is how we will judge our season.
“We want to move things forward and I think this squad is capable of doing that if we avoid the big injuries.
“We will still look around, but we’re competing against clubs that pay players though and that’s not a route we want to go down.
“Wo we’ve got to be clever and work with schools and colleges.”
