REIGNING Bucks Cricket U11 champions Beaconsfield continued where they left off last season with victory in the first big tournament of the summer.

They beat hosts High Wycombe in the final to win the ESM Academy Mo Aslam Memorial Tournament on Easter Monday.

The tournament was staged in honour of ESM Academy founder Aslam, with more than £1,000 being raised for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Teams from around the county took part, but it was Beaconsfield and Wycombe who set the standard as both progressed to the final with 100 per cent records.

Beaconsfield then batted first and nudged their way to 114 thanks to contributions up and down the order.

Wycombe made a good fist of chasing them down, but accurate bowling and sharp fielding meant they finished 11 runs shy.
