MARLOW FC enjoyed a sweet Easter with victories coming against both their Southern League neighbours.

They twice came from behind to beat Chalfont St Peter on Easter Monday.

Romaine Walker gave Saints the lead after 19 minutes and although Jon Bennett levelled after 38 minutes Chalfont went to the break 2-1 up thanks to Scott Fitzgerald’s goal.

However, the second half was a totally different affair with Marlow dominating play from the restart.

Chalfont defended resolutely, but Marlow finally broke them down with two goals in the final seven minutes to snatch all the points.

Bennett scored the first of them to make it 2-2 before Ian Davies slotted home an 85th-minute winner.

The victory completed a sweet Easter for Mark Bartley’s men, who won another domestic on Saturday when they beat Beaconsfield 2-0 thanks to Bennett and Marcus Mealing.

Beaconsfield did bounce back with a 4-1 win over Aylesbury United on Monday with Tom O’Regan, Kofi Lockhart-Adams, Jon-Jo Bates and Zak Joseph on target, while Chalfont beat St Ives last Saturday by the odd goal in seven.

Walker scored twice alongside goals from Fitzgerald and Terrell Lewis.
