MARLOW Wolves’ kitted team made a blistering start to the new British American Football League season with three wins out of three at Marlow RFC’s Riverwoods ground.

They beat Solent Thrashers 34-0, Sussex Thunder 33-0 and Cornish Sharks 25-6 to top the table after the first tournament.

And not only are they leading the way, shut outs against the Thrashers and the Thunder means their defence is already ranked number one in the entire country.

Having lost to all three teams the last time they played them, the day couldn’t have gone any better for Wolves.

Head coach Adam Dawkins said: “I knew we were capable of it but it’s encouraging to see everybody execute as we know they can.

“It couldn’t really have gone any better.

“We’re now top of the South West section after the first round and hopefully that will really encourage the flag teams, who have their first tournaments coming up.
