Champions Cup play-offs too soon for Wade - Wasps

Bucks Free Press: Christian Wade hasn't played since November Christian Wade hasn't played since November

THE European Rugby Champions Cup play-offs will come too soon for Christian Wade to make his return.

The Wasps winger hasn’t played since injuring his ankle playing against London Irish at the end of November and was hoping to return to action in time for England’s summer tour to New Zealand.

But director of rugby Dai Young always thought that was optimistic and while he stresses there are no glitches in Wade’s recovery, he says Wade won’t play in either match against Stade Francais.

Wasps host Stade on Sunday, May 17 before going to Paris on Saturday, May 24.

How do 'Have the play offs offered Wade and England lifeline?' and 'Champions Cup play-offs too soon for Wade' in ANY WAY agree? Having posed the question, your article could have been summarised in one word: 'NO'!
OTOH, Wade might still go on the England tour if pronounced fit. There's something to be said for a player coming back fresh from injury rather than having to have battled though to the end of a long, tough league season.
