BAD weather disrupted the opening day of the cricket season with most Home Counties Cricket League matches either abandoned or cancelled altogether.

Wycombe's home game with Aston Rowant in Division One was off, although Gerrards Cross did get a game on with Banbury.

But they were well beaten by Banbury, who won by 60 runs with the Duckworth-Lewis system.

In Division Two, Amersham's match with Cove was off, but Chesham beat Great & Little Tew after dismissing their hosts for 62.
