DEAN Morgan, Leon Johnson and Matt Spring are among the Wanderers players to be released by Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth as he reshapes his squad for next season.

Ainsworth met with all bar one of his out-of-contract players today and offered terms to nine men and released a further eight.

Experienced defender Gary Doherty, long serving midfielder Matt Bloomfield, highly rated defender Anthony Stewart and captain Stuart Lewis have all been offered new contracts.

Also being offered new deals are Steven Craig, Sam Wood, Junior Morias and Charlie Horlock, while Ainsworth has opted to take up the second year option on the contract offered to Tommy Fletcher last summer.

On their way out of Adams Park are veteran midfielder Spring – who did not even feature in a squad after December – and club stalwart Johnson, who made his 200th appearance for Blues towards the end of the last campaign.

Morgan’s exit is sure to divide opinion amongst supporters, with the striker scoring eight goals but suffering from a string of injuries last season.

Jo Kuffour, Jon-Paul Pittman, Anthony Jeffrey, Lee Angol and Jesse Kewley-Graham have all also been released.

Ainsworth is still to meet with out-of-contract defender Marvin McCoy.
