AN ONLINE petition calling for a £10,000 fine handed to Wanderers this week to be rescinded has been set up by angry supporters.
The Football Association announced yesterday the club were to be slapped with a £10,000 fine and given a warning over their future conduct for breaching regulations involving player agents.
The punishment was handed out in relation to the transfer of former player Matt Phillips to Blackpool.
He moved in 2010 and fans setting up the online protest believe the fine is unfair as it punishes the Wycombe Wanderers Trust, who had no dealings with the transfer.
The petition, aimed at FA chairman Greg Dyke and his deputy Roger Burden, says Wanderers are "a club which has limited resources and is still trying to run a viable financial model after many years of mis-management and incurred debt run up under previous regimes".
