SISTERS Ellie and Bethany Osborn raced to a podium finish at the National Schools Regatta as Great Marlow School Boat Club won a gold and two bronzes.
The Osborn’s came third in the girls championship pairs despite being unwell, and with a bit of luck might easily have taken silver.
They were the second fastest crew in qualifying and were second for most of the final, but a the wind shelter 200m from the end enabled the boat in lane one to pip them for silver.
Great Marlow School also came third in the boys championship pairs with Sam Haynes and Graham Lyons leading the final until 500m from the end, but Ross Honey and Dan Magnussen did take gold in the J16 pairs.
Schoolmates James Wheal and Ed Nunn were fourth in the final.
