ENGLAND lock Joe Launchbury says Wasps saved their best performance of the season for their biggest game in years.

Qualification for Europe's premier club competition was at stake when they went to Stade Francais last week but they were superb in turning a one-point advantage from the home leg into a 15-point overall win.

Launchbury, who is in New Zealand now with England, said: "It's a massive result. We knew the challenge, it was probably the biggest game we've had as a club for a long, long time, but to come and win the way we did - the guys were really up for it and it was probably the most convincing performance we've put out all year."

Wasps will now join the likes of Leinster, Munster, Saracens, Toulon and Toulouse in the inaugural Champions Cup.

Launchbury said: "Next year we'll be exactly where we want to be. Since I've been at the club we've not been in it so everyone is really looking forward to being in the European Cup.

"We sneaked in the back door but we're delighted and can't wait for next season. We'll give it the best shot we can."
