TOM Ingram raced to his best British Touring Car Championship result of the season at Oulton Park last weekend, when two top tens elevated him to 12 in the overall standings.

He finished ninth in race one and seventh in race two, before fuel pressure failure halted his charge on lap one of race three.

He said: “I’ve always loved Oulton Park and I’ve always gone well there. We struggled during practice – not helped by the changeable weather – but we made some big changes to the set-up ahead of qualifying and they really paid off.

“We were the most competitive we have been so far – which is testament to all the hard work the Speedworks guys have put in this year – and next we go to Croft, one of my favourite tracks on the calendar, with the goal of keeping this upward momentum going.”

Meanwhile, Jack Goff came home 16th and 13th before also failing to finish race three.

He is now 14th in the overall standings.
