MEGAN Peppiatt enjoyed arguably her best result to date with a starring role for Amersham Swimming Club at the South East Regional Championships.

The rising talent won the BAGCAT award for best girl in her age group, making it a fantastic double after she picked up the same award at the County Championships earlier in the year.

She collected the gong for overall achievement across a number of events, with the highlight being gold in the ten-year-old girls 200m backstroke in 2:48.23.

Peppiatt followed that up with eight more top four finishes, including silver in the final event of the four-day competition, the 400m individual medley.

Amersham’s other regional medals came from Rosie Whittaker, who won bronze in the 14-year-old 100m freestyle and silver in the 200m freestyle.

She then joined Sammy Farnfield, Lily Pearson, and Georgina Bradley to finish sixth in both the 4x200m and 4x100m relays.

Meanwhile, Ceara Barber finished fourth in the 100m backstroke in a national qualifying time of 1:11.72, while further regional successes came from Ellis Morgan, who competed in a string events with fourth in the 11-year boys 100m backstroke being his best finish, and Niamh Barber, who was eighth in the 10-year girls 200m backstroke.

At the Youth Championships, there were top eight finishes for Hugo Bellamy (100m freestyle, 400m individual medley, 200m butterfly, 400m freestyle, 200m freestyle), George Marsh (50m butterfly and 50m backstroke), Henry Pendered (400m individual medley), Luke Hollingsworth (100m backstroke) and Thanya Jasinska (400m freestyle).
