WANDERERS have added to their backroom staff after appointing a new physio and bringing in an old friend to become fitness coach.

Dave Wates has returned to Adams Park to become the club's new head of conditioning and fitness.

He used to be the fitness coach of the Wanderers youth team before moving on to take up a similar role at the Charlton Athletic academy.

Blues have also recruited Cian O'Doherty as their new physio, replacing the departed Theo Farley.

Manager Gareth Ainsworth said: "Dave Wates used to be on the youth team and I was impressed with his work then. He's a total fitness guru and got all the qualifications regarding nutrition and fitness, and he's going to be overseeing pre season on the fitness side of things.

"Dave's a very important member of the team and he's been welcomed in."
