THERE were mixed fortunes for Marlow's hockey players as they earned medals in the Commonwealth Games.

Alex Danson missed her penalty in the shoot-out as England's women had to settle for silver after being beaten by Australia.

The men's team were victorious in their penalty shoot-out however as they saw off New Zealand to claim bronze.

Captain Barry Middleton and former John Hampden Grammar School pupil Nick Catlin, both from Marlow, held their nerve to convert their penalties as England beat the Kiwis 4-2.
