STOKENCHURCH FC will be back playing at the highest level they've ever competed at this season after being accepted into the Hellenic League.
Under the guidance of joint managers David Fisher and Martin Williams they won the Wycombe Senior League last year and were successful in their application to join the next step up.
They've been placed into Division Two East and will kick off the new season on September 6.
Fisher said: "We've got a strong squad and we will hold our own.
"We see it as a natural progression and something we wanted to do. It gives us an impetus to press on."
The former Chalfont Wasps boss, who is currently in sole charge after Williams stepped aside, added: "We don't have floodlights, which means we can't go up if we finish in the top two. We've asked the parish council about it and they haven't declined anything."
Stokenchurch have played at Hellenic League level before but not for a number of decades.
