AMERSHAM CC extended their fine run to four wins in their last four completed Home Counties matches on Saturday, while their second and fourth teams wrapped up promotion in what was a stellar weekend for the club.

The first team were too good for Great & Little Tew as they powered to a 74-run victory that leaves them with 24 points of Home Counties Division Two leaders Horspath.

They are also within striking distance of second-placed Reading and have to still play the both the sides above them before the end of the campaign.

Stephano Joubert (43), Christopher Cann (33), Andrew Viney (25) and Bruce Friderichs (24) scored the bulk of the runs in their total of 193, before Joubert (3-17), Christopher Owen (2-6) and Alexander Lines (2-11) rattled through the Tew order to dismiss them for just 120.

Meanwhile, Amersham 2s secured promotion from division 4B of the Thames Valley League with a 110-run triumph over Cookham Dean.

Richard Stephenson’s 62 helped them to a score of 229-8, before Raza Ahmed (5-71) and David Atkinson (4-39) ripped through Dean’s order.

Meanwhile, Amersham 3s beat British Airways in Division 6A by 70 runs.

Roy Sundiram and Phil Lloyd both scored 58s in their total of 197-5 before BA nosedived to 127.

They remain in a three-horse race for promotion with just five points separating the contenders, but Amersham 4s have done the hard work after a 160-run triumph over Hayes 4s clinched promotion in Division 8.
