WANDERERS' mantra on hard work paying off will face its stiffest test of the season tomorrow as Gareth Ainsworth's side face Stevenage.

Not many teams relish the prospect of a trip to the Lamex Stadium, with Borough being well known for an uncompromising style of play that pushes gamesmanship to the limit.

It was a tactic that secured promotion to League One for the Hertfordshire club in 2011 but they were relegated back to the bottom tier at the end of last season.

Blues boss Ainsworth will be warning his men about what they can expect to face on Saturday - but said his side are now better equipped to handle a physical challenge.

Ainsworth said a lack of physicality cost Wanderers crucial points last season, and one of his key priorities over the summer was to address that.

He said: "It's going to be physical. The size of their players, they're big enough, let alone the way they play.

"The physicality was something we lacked last year and we've shown we've got it back this year with some of the players we've signed and some of the players ready to come in. I'm confident we can match any team.

"We know what they are about. Graham Westley's renowned for the way he plays, his philosophies, and I don't think he'll change from that. That's one of the strengths of the man.

"We've found a great little philosophy this year at Wycombe on and off the pitch, and we'll be sticking to that as well."

Striker Paul Hayes added: "It's the best time to play a team that's just been relegated, at the start of the season, because it's a big turnaround. It's a big eye opener to come into League Two, especially when they've been in League One for quite a while.

"We know it's going to be a very tough game, especially with Stevenage being what they are. They're a big physical side who like to bully the opposition.

"We're going to go to their back garden knowing it's going to be a very tough game. We had a bad result on Tuesday, we've accepted that. It's how we bounce back and we're looking forward to Saturday's game."
